Werder Bremen has wrapped up their pre-season schedule of their tour in China as the Germans picked up friendly triumphs against Chinese Super League champions Changchun Yatai as well as defeating Tianjin TEDA.
The players and staff members of the German club were relieved and satisfied about all of the positive results they secured during their trip to China as the Sporting Director, Thomas Eichin and the head coach Robin Dutt expressed to the public when the journey was over.
Robin Dutt said: “The team’s excellent attitude has come to the fore again in China. We worked so hard that I was waiting every day for the lads to run out of steam, but they never did. It was like having ten Ronaldos’’
Sporting Director Thomas Eichin added on: “It’s been an exciting trip from all sorts of angles. Very few of us had been to China before. There were new experiences every day, we got to know the country and its people and it’s left a real impression on us. The conditions were extreme at times but we put in some decent work all the same. The pitches were in a good condition and we beat very handy opponents in our two friendlies. So from a sporting perspective as well, it’s been a fruitful trip.”
The pre-season of Werder Bremen still sees the German outfit having to play against: Leicester City FC, Chelsea FC, and Athletic Club. All of those matches will serve as preparation before the next campaign initiates in August as Werder Bremen wants to get prepared and secure a higher spot in the German League compared to the previous season when they managed on securing the 12th spot.
