Lautaro Martinez is attracting interest among top clubs in Europe. Argentina international’s performance this season has alerted a series of top clubs and they are said to be eyeing a move for the player in the summer.
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Juventus and Manchester United have all been linked with the player. The January transfer window has come and gone but rumour about Martinez leaving the San siro has refused to go away.
Chelsea were serving a two window transfer ban before the sanction was halved in the court of Arbitration for sport in December and they were expected to add new arrivals in the winter, but the blues couldn’t add any player all through January much to the frustration of manager Frank Lampard. Lampard stated that Chelsea will now be at a disadvantage among other clubs eyeing the top four.
Jadon Sancho, Martinez, Edinson Cavani, Milikovic-savic among other names were continually linked with Stamford Bridge all through January, but the window closed, and the west London club failed to add any new faces.
According to sources close to London, it was revealed that the club made an effort to sign new players in January, but it was difficult, as the right players were not available.
Chelsea will make another move for Martinez in the summer and they are ready to do battle with other interested parties. Should Lautaro Martinez join Chelsea, he will join Sebastian Veron and Franco di Santo as the players from Argentina to represent the Blues.
There were several strikers linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, including the likes of Dries Mertens from Napoli and Moussa Dembele of Ligue 1 side Lyon.
Martinez, 22, has made 30 appearances this season scoring 18 goals in the process. He has formed a good understanding with summer signing Romelu Lukaku, and they have both combined well to lead Nerazzurri’s charge for the Serie A title.
